What is Ventura Park

Ventura Park is a 16 acre mixed park inside Cancun hotel zone, combining a water park, a theme park, a dolphin habitat, a ropes course, go karts and several restaurants. The park is the rebrand of the former Wet'n Wild Cancun and Parque Nizuc.

Unlike the Xcaret group parks, Ventura is urban. You are inside the hotel zone, with Cancun's main boulevard at the door and beach resorts across the street. That makes it the single most convenient water park if you are staying in Cancun.

Main attractions

Here is what you get inside:

  • Wet'n Wild water park: 8 slides, a wave pool, a lazy river and a kids splash zone.
  • Fun World: bowling, arcade games and mini golf.
  • Aaah! Ventura: a ropes course and zip line above the park.
  • Go Karts: a proper outdoor track with timed sessions.
  • Dolphinaris: dolphin swim programs for an extra fee.
  • Grand Oasis Aqua: kids water castle.

Is it worth it?

Ventura Park has clear tradeoffs vs the Riviera Maya parks:

Ventura wins on convenience (no round trip), the go kart and ropes course (neither exists at Xcaret or Xel-Ha), and the lower entry price.

Ventura loses on scenery, food quality, variety of water activities and crowd control. The park is smaller and fills up on weekends with local Cancun residents.

Recommended for: families with 1 to 2 nights in Cancun hotel zone who want a half day of rides.

Not ideal for: visitors with 4+ days in Quintana Roo who can spare one full day for Xcaret or Xel-Ha.

What to bring

Swimsuit, reef safe sunscreen (non reef safe is prohibited in pools), flip flops, a light towel (towels are included in the All Access pass but limited). Leave valuables in the hotel safe.

Getting there

If your hotel is in the hotel zone, the R1 bus stops right outside for 12 pesos. Taxis cost $8 to $15 from anywhere between Punta Cancun and Punta Nizuc. From downtown, the R1 still works and takes about 20 minutes.

Best time to go

Weekdays are noticeably quieter. Arrive at opening (10 AM), hit the slides and go karts first, have lunch around 1 PM, ropes course in the afternoon. Plan to leave by 5 PM when the park closes.

Book Ventura Park

Skip the gate line. Mobile ticket, free cancellation up to 24 hours before.

Frequently asked questions

Yes. Ventura Park is located in Boulevard Kukulcan Km 25, right in the heart of Cancun hotel zone. It is the only full size water and theme park inside the hotel zone itself.

Ventura Park tickets start at $55 for basic water park access. All access passes including rides and lunch reach $75. Combo tickets with the dolphin swim or go karts cost $95 to $120.

Ventura Park is worth it if you are staying in Cancun hotel zone and want to avoid the 2 hour trip to Riviera Maya. If you have a full day and mobility to travel, Xcaret or Xel-Ha offer more variety for the price.
