Yes. 3 days is the recommended minimum to visit the three flagship Riviera Maya parks. Each park takes a full day and you will want some rest time between them. The 3 park combo ticket costs $299 and is valid for 30 days.
Playa del Carmen is the best base for a 3 day water park itinerary. All three parks are within 20 minutes of Playa by car or shuttle. Cancun hotel zone adds 60 to 80 minutes each way. Hotel Xcaret Mexico is the only option with parks on property.
Xcaret first (most variety, helps you calibrate expectations), Xel-Ha second (calm recovery day), Xplor third (saves the adrenaline for when you know the area). Alternatively, swap Xel-Ha and Xplor based on energy levels.
